By now, it’s certainly no surprise to anyone with paying attention that Donald Trump is unfit for the prestigious position he currently holds. One year into office as our country’s Commander in Chief, he has proven time and time again that he has a blatant disrespect for the presidency, the government, the White House, and democracy as a whole.
And for those still out there who still don’t buy that, just kindly guide them toward the latest insider profile from the New Yorker, which reveals Trump has routinely been handing out classified information to people who do not appear properly cleared to received such information, including his son-in-law.
In a new profile of Jared Kushner, the New Yorker reveals that Kushner is one of fourteen people who has been receiving Trump’s daily classified intel briefing, at least at one point in time.
Why is this is a problem, you may ask? Because Kushner still doesn’t have permanent security clearance.
Per the New Yorker:
Kushner had an interim clearance that gave him access to intelligence. He was also added to a list of recipients of the President’s Daily Brief, or P.D.B., a top-secret digest of the U.S. government’s most closely held and compartmentalized intelligence reports. By the end of the Obama Administration, seven White House officials were authorized to receive the same version of the P.D.B. that appeared on the President’s iPad. The Trump Administration expanded the number to as many as fourteen people, including Kushner. A former senior official said, of the growing P.D.B. distribution list, “It got out of control. Everybody thought it was cool. They wanted to be cool.”
Trump announced on January 9th that Kushner would join the Administration. As months passed, some members of the White House received their permanent security clearances, but Kushner still continues to wait, yet still receives classified information.
The report goes on to note, “Kushner had an interim clearance that gave him access to intelligence. He was also added to a list of recipients of the President’s Daily Brief, or P.D.B., a top-secret digest of the U.S. government’s most closely held and compartmentalized intelligence reports…”
“…Among national-security specialists, Kushner’s difficulty obtaining a permanent security clearance has become a subject of fascination.”
Needless to say, whatever it is that Kushner is hiding from the public about his role in the Russia investigation or his other overseas entanglements, I believe it’s safe to say the U.S. intel community clearly knows of it, and it’s perhaps the reason they aren’t allowing him permanent security clearance.
Between this, the Russians, and the number of White House senior advisers that have already resigned or been fired, that sure makes for a lot of eyes and ears that have been exposed to state secrets that had no business hearing them in the first place.
