Donald Trump gave Israeli classified intelligence to the Russian government months ago while standing in the Oval Office with Sergey Kislyak and Sergey Lavrovand, which created an international security issue.
Howard Blum with Vanity Fair put it like this: “The president betrayed his intelligence community by leaking the content of a classified, and highly sensitive, Israeli intelligence operation to two high-ranking Russian envoys”
The number of scandals Trump has had since then have taken the attention off of this particular screw up, but you can rest assured Special Counsel Robert Mueller hasn’t forgotten about it. Mueller is investigating Trump’s actions and based on the report, it sounds an awful lot like a treason investigation.
The classified Israeli mission intel has been explained in detail in Howard Blum. Deep down in the article lies this little nugget:
“Trump’s disturbing choice to hand over highly sensitive intelligence to the Russians is now a focus of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s relationship with Russia, both before and after the election.”
Mueller isn’t just investigating the election and collusion with Russia, he’s fully investigating the relationship between Trump and Russia. He’s using Trump’s poor choice to get to the heart of why Trump is so close to the Russians.
If Mueller can prove Trump gave the Russians intel was actually a crime, it’s not going to end well for Trump. Robert Mueller is clearly looking at Trump for conspiracy against the U.S. at the very least.
This little Oval Office meeting between Trump and the Russians has understandably been lost under the pile of other evidence and bombshells being covered by the media since, but Robert Mueller doesn’t forget anything.
