Earlier this year when the name George Nader surfaced in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, it surprisingly appeared in all of the headlines connecting to the word “immunity” which left many wondering why the man was so special to have received it. Well, now we seem to know why, and it appears to have everything to do with Donald Trump Jr.
Thanks to a few clues received along the way, we’ve already learned that George Nader setup the Seychelles meeting during the transition period between the Russian government and Erik Prince, the brother of Donald Trump’s Secretary of Education. Now, we’ve learned that Nader set up a meeting during the election between Donald Trump Jr, Erik Prince, an emissary for the governments of two Middle Eastern nations, and an Israeli who wanted to be paid millions of dollars to help swing the election.
Per the New York Times: “Three months before the 2016 election, a small group gathered at Trump Tower to meet with Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son. One was an Israeli specialist in social media manipulation. Another was an emissary for two wealthy Arab princes. The third was a Republican donor with a controversial past in the Middle East as a private security contractor.
The meeting was convened primarily to offer help to the Trump team, and it forged relationships between the men and Trump insiders that would develop over the coming months — past the election and well into President Trump’s first year in office, according to several people with knowledge of their encounters.
Erik Prince, the private security contractor and the former head of Blackwater, arranged the meeting, which took place on Aug. 3, 2016. The emissary, George Nader, told Donald Trump Jr. that the princes who led Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were eager to help his father win election as president. The social media specialist, Joel Zamel, extolled his company’s ability to give an edge to a political campaign; by that time, the firm had already drawn up a multimillion-dollar proposal for a social media manipulation effort to help elect Mr. Trump.”
In other words, Nader holds more than just the key to Erik Prince’s potential prison sentence. In fact, and perhaps more importantly, he’s also holding the key to Donald Trump Jr.’s fate with Robert Mueller, as he is the one who set up the meetings, and can testify about it.
This spells extremely bad news for Donald Trump Jr. because — considering Nader cut his plea deal months ago — he may have already testified to all of the above. Even if he hasn’t, he more than likely will. Trump Jr. could very well be put in a position where he has to cut a deal that ends badly for his father.
Between this and his divorce, could things possibly get any worse for Jr.?
