A large percentage of Americans now support impeachment proceedings for President Trump. But one name not among them is House Speaker Paul Ryan. I wonder why that is? There’s at least $100,000 that may explain why.
While Ryan certainly isn’t the only Congressional Republican infuriatingly putting party loyalty over country loyalty, he is one of the most influential. Perhaps Ryan’s reasons for continuing to support the President goes beyond simple party allegiance.
Scott Dworkin, senior advisor with Democratic Coalition Against Trump, recently brought to light that Trump donated exactly $100,000 to the Congressional Leadership Fund, which just happens to be a super PAC with close ties to and support for Paul Ryan.
Ryan protecting Trump because of a money trail is hardly surprising, considering the staggering level of corruption from Republicans in DC at this point in time.
After all, Betsy DeVos, who is a very wealthy businesswoman, was appointed as Secretary of Education in back in February. She has donated millions of dollars to 25 Republican senators, who all approved her nomination. Coincidence? I think not. It’s how the GOP operates.
