Add to the “evidence Donald Trump was most definitely urging someone to hurt Hillary Clinton” file the following story:
NBC journalist Katy Tur has written an account of her year on the road (trying to) cover the Trump campaign. The story goes from strange to bizarre to horrifying from page to page. See for yourself here.
But the part of her account of covering Trump that stands out the most is an incident where Trump called her out on national TV and his followers took to Twitter to verbally assault her and even threaten her life.
He called her out from the stage of a televised rally for what he calls her “big lies” about him. The backlash against her from the crowd of Trump enthusiasts was so loud and scary that she ended up being escorted out of the venue by the Secret Service.
Tur says that she daily endures a “wave of insults, harassment, and threats, via various social-media feeds, (that) hasn’t stopped since. Many of the attacks are unprintable.”
Defending/justifying Trump’s calls to violence, whether against a reporter from NBC or the Democratic Presidential Candidate, clearly is not a harmless endeavor. If you don’t believe me, do a twitter search for “Katy Tur.” That is, if you can stomach the disgusting and threatening things people are saying about her.
