When Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s proposed interview questions for Donald Trump were leaked, based on the range they covered, it became pretty apparent that Mueller must already know everything there is to know about the Trump-Russia scandal.
According to Trump’s former adviser Michael Caputo, who was interviewed by Mueller in his Southwest Washington office, that’s very much the case.
While on air with CNN, Caputo revealed that after having spent some quality time with Mueller earlier in the day, he has now noted the differences between the congressional committee’s investigation and Mueller’s, and as a result, was able to spell out just how much Mueller already knows.
“It’s clear they are still really focused on Russia collusion,” Caputo told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “They know more about the Trump campaign than anyone who ever worked there.”
“The Senate and the House are net fishing,” he added. “The special counsel is spearfishing. They know what they are aiming at and are deadly accurate.”
Additionally, in regards to the interview, Caputo told ABC News that “It was very, very difficult. They know a lot. They have everything.”
“It’s a little bit frightening to know that the government can have that much information on you,” he said.
Essentially, the information Caputo describes here confirms what was already apparent: That Mueller more than likely already knows the answers to the proposed interview questions without having formally asked them to Trump.
Nevertheless, after the questions leaked and Trump became triggered, Mueller turned his attention to Caputo and other Trump associates as he is hoping to catch them in lies. Why? Because lies yield plea deals, and plea deals yield flipping on Trump, of course.
