For a campaign that claims that they don’t encourage and incite violence against their opponents, they sure do talk an awful lot about shooting Hillary Clinton.
New Hampshire state legislator and Trump advisor Al Badasaro doubled down on his previous statements that Hillary Clinton should be shot for treason. The treason Badasaro speaks of is Clinton’s use of a private email server and mishandling of classified materials. The absurdity here of course is that Clinton’s actions have been declared to not be treasonous almost across the board from the FBI and the State Department.
Blaming the media for reporting that he said Clinton should be shot previously, Baldasaro repeated that Clinton should be shot. “The liberal media took what I said and went against the law and the Constitution and ran with it, and they said that I wanted her assassinated, which I never did,” Baldasaro said. “I said I spoke as a veteran, and she should be shot in a firing squad for treason.”
“Baldasaro said his comments were in accordance with U.S. law establishing the death penalty for treason. He suggested that Clinton’s use of a private email server could be considered treasonous,” Mass Live reported.
No, Mr. Baldasaro, they could not be considered treasonous. That is why no one, and I mean NO ONE, with any understanding of this situation, agrees with you that Clinton should be shot.
Even if Hillary Clinton committed treason, there is no precedent in American history for executing someone for treason. There have been a few isolated executions for intent to commit espionage, but that is technically not the same thing as treason.
This is the kind of insane and inflammatory speech we have grown so accustomed to hearing from this hate-mongering dumpster fire of a campaign. I for one cannot wait until these bozos are humiliated in November and disappear from public discourse forever.
