Special Counsel Robert Mueller made a public statement yesterday morning regarding the investigation into Donald Trump and Russian interference in the election. He stated clearly that he didn’t exonerate Donald Trump because the evidence did not support doing so. Mueller also said he did not criminally charge Trump because DOJ policy said he could not charge a sitting president. Mueller was very clear, yet Trump heard something entirely different.
Shortly after Mueller finished speaking, Trump tweeted “Nothing changes from the Mueller Report. There was insufficient evidence and therefore, in our Country, a person is innocent. The case is closed! Thank you.”
Seriously? Mueller did not say “insufficient evidence” a single time. It seems that Trump didn’t watch the same press conference the rest of America did.
Trump literally just said Mueller didn’t say what you all think you heard. It is clear that Trump is hanging on tightly to denial as his last hope. Mueller didn’t even threaten Trump, he just told the truth and then handed the House Dems the evidence they need to go ahead and do what they want with it.
Impeachment is most likely the next step. It was pretty much always inevitable, but now it is certain beyond a shadow of a doubt. House Dems will most likely move forward soon and Trump has proven once again he has no solid defense for his actions. Mueller’s statement isn’t the end, its really just the beginning.
