Trump struggles with accepting reality, which has been publicly evident since the very moment he announced his presidential run. However, in recent weeks it appears his delusion has escalated to levels we’ve not previously witnessed.
Just this week he tried to convince the public that Melania Trump was looking out a White House window.
Washington Post reported that Friday morning, a reporter shouted a question to Trump, asking where his wife was as he was about to board Marine One to attend the Naval Academy commencement. Trump responded by pointing to a window in the White House and: “She’s doing great. She’s looking at us right there.”
Reporters then turned to look at the widow that Trump pointed to, but there was no sign of the first lady. Numerous people in attendance has confirmed that she was not looking out the window.
However, Trump didn’t stop there. Not only is he claiming people are there when they aren’t, but now the president is claiming his own people don’t exist when they actually do.
When Trump got busted with a recording to prove it, he decided to really jump off the deep end.
After canceling his meeting with Kim Jong-Un, he tweeted that he may just change his mind and have it anyway on the same date, despite a White House staffer saying that’s impossible.
Trump tweeted “The Failing @nytimes quotes “a senior White House official,” who doesn’t exist, as saying “even if the meeting were reinstated, holding it on June 12 would be impossible, given the lack of time and the amount of planning needed.” WRONG AGAIN! Use real people, not phony sources.”
Brian Karem of CNN promptly responded “I was there. This was a background briefing given by a senior administration official in the briefing room!” He then added, “Matt Pottinger is the official. Introduced by Raj Shah. It happened in the briefing room. And there is audio available. The president lied. Since POTUS did not honor the agreement by claiming this was faked I do not have trouble naming the official.”
Once Trump realized he was caught in a mess he tried to change the subject and promptly began a public meltdown on Twitter, ranting about Democrats, spies and informants, you know…the usual.
