The things that come out of popular vote loser Donald Trump’s mouth just keep getting more and more ridiculous all the time. The alternate reality in which he lives must be a very interesting place, where the rules don’t apply to him and the world does whatever he demands of it.
One such example is this: Donald Trump said that there was no collusion between his team and Russia (a claim that he has repeated often – despite the overwhelming credible evidence to the contrary), but he says that even if there was collusion, it wouldn’t be a crime.
“I watched Alan Dershowitz the other day, he said, No. 1, there is no collusion, No. 2, collusion is not a crime, but even if it was a crime, there was no collusion,” Mr Trump told the New York Times in a 30-minute interview.
“He said there was no collusion. And he has studied this thing very closely. I’ve seen him a number of times. There is no collusion, and even if there was, it’s not a crime. But there’s no collusion.”
Trump repeated 16 times in the interview that there was “no collusion” . He said be believes that Robert Mueller would treat him fairly, which is an odd statement to make. Someone typically gets treated “fairly” when there is something to be found. If there is absolutely nothing to find, you don’t need to be treated “fairly”. If you are 100% innocent, it doesn’t matter how someone treats you, because they have nothing on you.
“It makes the country look very bad, and it puts the country in a very bad position,” Trump said of the investigation. “So the sooner it’s worked out, the better it is for the country.”
When asked about if he would have the DOJ to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton, he said he could if he wanted to.
“I have absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department,” he said. “But for purposes of hopefully thinking I’m going to be treated fairly, I’ve stayed uninvolved with this particular matter.”
There are so many things wrong with those statements that I don’t where to begin:
First of all, Alan Dershowitz has no idea what he’s talking about. Collusion with a foreign government that alters a democratic election is ABSOLUTELY illegal.
Second, Robert Mueller will be the one to determine if there was collusion…no one else.
Third, it absolutely is a crime.
Fourth, you absolutely don’t get to do whatever you want to do with the Justice Department. It’s not your “absolute right”. This is not a dictatorship.
Fifth, YOU are what’s making America look bad, not the investigation into your alleged crimes.
Let’s make America great again by getting someone in office who actually have the mental capacity to do the job.
