After What FBI Director Wray Just Exposed, He May Be Next to Go

Donald Trump has attacked the FBI over and over for a long time now, fabricating scandals and spreading them about its leaders. However,  it appears the bureau has been able to expose one of Trump’s lie that he and his White House have been telling for days.

Yesterday, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee, and was asked about a number of issues, including the Rob Porter domestic violence scandal. His answer, however, appears to contradict what the White House has reported in regards to the timeline of its knowledge of Porter’s scandal.

Apparently, the FBI had been tasked with performing a background check on Porter, who has been accused of domestic abuse by two ex-wives, and even briefed the White House on its investigation.

The White House claims they retained Porter on staff because the FBI’s background check was still ongoing, and that it was waiting for the results. Yet as of yesterday, Wray has testified that the background check process was closed months ago, revealing that the Trump White House was very much aware of Porter’s history of beating women, “allegedly” of course.

“I can’t get into the content of what was briefed to the White House … What I can tell you is that the FBI submitted a partial report on the investigation in question in March. And then a completed background investigation in late July. That soon thereafter, we received request for follow-up inquiry and we did the follow-up and provided that information in November and that we administratively closed the file in January,” Wray said.

Wray also said that the FBI “received some additional information” earlier this month and “passed that along as well.”

Given Trump’s habit of getting rid of people who defy him, don’t be surprised if Trump fires FBI Director Wray any moment now.
