Attorney General William Barr spoke out at a New Orleans conference for police officers about Jeffrey Epstein and noted there were “serious irregularities” at the jail where his death occurred. Honestly, it seemed as if Barr were trying to pin the incident on low level employees
“I was appalled and frankly angry to learn of the [jail’s] failure to adequately secure this prisoner,” Mr. Barr said. “We are now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and demand a thorough investigation.”
Interestingly enough, Barr’s comments were reported in a Wall Street Journal article which also contains a claim alleging that it was Epstein’s own attorneys that suggested he be taken off suicide watch. Considering Epstein had been found with injuries around his neck just two weeks prior, one can’t help but wonder why the attorneys would make such a call.
Additionally, it’s strange to see that claim paired in an article with AG Barr’s comments, especially considering Barr has inevitably been in the WSJ’s corner as of late based on all of the pro-Trump propaganda it has been reporting.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see if Epstein’s attorneys dispute the report. Frankly, I’m curious to know why they suddenly felt so comfortable leaving him alone when this new report clearly suggests he shouldn’t have been.
