The Guardian recently broke a story about British intelligence alerting U.S officials about contact between Trump advisers and Russian officials, but there is a small section of the story that easily went unnoticed by most, but it includes a massive piece of information.
The report said, “One source suggested the official [American] investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.””
Why is this extremely significant? Because if it is proven that Trump and/or his team were involved in any way with the release of hacked Hillary Clinton-related emails, this would be a colossal impeachment-level offense with a clear smoking gun in the scandal. The source is choosing to remain anonymous at this point.
Rep. Adam Schiff also said on March 22 that he’d seen “more than circumstantial evidence” of collusion.
So, the real question is, who is this source of “specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion” and where did they get the information?
If and when this comes out, this will be the biggest political earthquake in US political history, as even Republicans will have no choice but to proceed with impeachment hearings at that point.
The Guardian also cites a source as saying the British spy agency GCHQ was the “principal whistleblower” in prompting an FBI investigation into the ties between Trump associates and Russia.
CNN reported the same findings based on accounts from numerous insiders.
Naturally, the White House says this information is simply “fake news”.
