Lindsey Graham says he wants impeachment of President, but it gets awkward

Senator Lindsey Graham (R. SC), a staunch supporter, enabler and defender of embattled President* Donald Trump, has some pretty strong opinions on removing the President from office, as Democrats in the House of Representatives have begun serious conversation about moving forward with impeachment proceedings against Trump.

Here is Graham had to say: “He encouraged people to lie for him. He lied. I think he obstructed justice. I think there’s a compelling case that he has, in fact, engaged in conduct that would be better for him to leave office than to stay in office.”

Oh. Wait. Actually, that was 20 years ago and about President Bill Clinton:

Back then, Graham was a member of the House of Representatives.  He also said “if this body [Congress] determines that your conduct as a public official is clearly out of bounds in your role . . . because impeachment is not about punishment. Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office.”

No word on where Graham stands on impeaching Trump, but I’d bet you $1million that it contradicts his statements on impeaching Clinton.
