Just when you think the early days of the Trump administration couldn’t get any worse, there’s this news about Trump’s next Executive Order, which is reportedly one that will destroy families that include gay parents and adopted children.
The vile, hateful homophobes in this administration, like Mike Pence and Steve Bannon, are about to have a field day by stripping the LBGT community of their basic human rights.
The New Civil Rights Movement (NCRM) is reporting the following:
A White House official speaking on the condition of anonymity has told NCRM that high ranking officials in the Trump administration are discussing the preparation of an executive order which would roll back and nullify President Barack Obama’s 2014 executive orders which protect employees from anti-LGBT workplace discrimination while working for federal contractors.
President Barack Obama’s orders protect approximately one in five workers across the nation.
The official also acknowledged that discussions have included creating what would amount to a loophole allowing federal employees to discriminate or refuse service on the basis of “sincerely-held religious beliefs.”
The White House did not immediately respond to NCRM’s request for comment.
There are no religious exemptions in the executive orders President Obama signed.
It looks like Trump is going to let the hate-mongering Mike Pence have his way and launch a full on assault on gay rights, proving that this picture (left) was nothing but total bullshit.
According to the source the NCRM cited, just like with the Muslim ban EO, Americans will not see this spiteful and hate-filled legislation until it is signed into law by the President
LGBTQ Nation reports,
“From what we’ve heard, the executive order could be far-reaching, and could include: making taxpayer funds available for discrimination against LGBTQ people in social services; allow federally funded adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBTQ parents; eliminate non-discrimination protections in order to make it possible to fire federal employers and contractors based on their sexual orientation or gender identity; and allow federal employees to refuse to serve people based on the belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman, and that gender is an immutable characteristic set at birth, which would impact a broad range of federal benefits.”
“The order is expected to come in the packaging of so-called “religious freedom,” which argues that someone’s religious beliefs should be enough to prevent them from having to provide goods and services to members of the LGBTQ community if doing so would conflict with said beliefs.”
