Trump runs his big mouth right into a making an eye-opening Russia admission

Although Donald Trump and his supporters would have you believe that Special Counsel Robert Mueller found no collusion, the vast majority of Americans still believe the Trump campaign did actively seek the help of the Russians during the 2016 election. The underlying issue, however, is that there aren’t any specific laws against the “help” that it did seek, therefore the cries of “no collusion” continue ringing.

Regardless, while none of that really matters now that Attorney General William Barr has spoken his piece, something Trump did on Friday morning certainly does matter, and it is definitely worth bringing the topic of collusion back into the fold.

So what did he do? Well, according to several major news outlets, Donald Trump had a long phone call with Vladimir Putin, and allegedly, they discussed the Mueller report at great length. Considering Trump already looked guilty for having fired FBI Director James Comey in order to stop the investigation into Trump-Russia collusion, and then promptly discussed the firing with Putin’s top deputies in the Oval Office the next day, this latest news only makes the president look that much worse.

And perhaps adding insult to injury here, NBC News has reported that in the conversation, Trump and Putin also discussed whether former White House Counsel Don McGahn should be allowed to testify before Congress. While I’m sure most congressional Republicans are looking the other way, this should be a huge red flag, folks.

Nevertheless, Donald Trump certainly wasn’t happy when the news broke, and in true Trump fashion, he promptly logged into Twitter and ranted away. However, he may have inadvertently confessed while doing so.

“Had a long and very good conversation with President Putin of Russia. As I have always said, long before the Witch Hunt started, getting along with Russia, China, and everyone is a good thing, not a bad thing.” he wrote. “We discussed Trade, Venezuela, Ukraine, North Korea, Nuclear Arms Control and even the “Russian Hoax.” Very productive talk!” he continued.

What Trump doesn’t appear to realize here is that he admitted to discussing the Trump-Russia criminal probe with the president of Russia. Even if nothing else screams “collusion,” this admission alone does and should be considered a serious offense.
