Last week, popular vote loser Donald Trump went after Democrats in Congress, calling them “treasonous” and accusing them of hating America simply for hurting his feelings by not giving him standing ovations during his putrid State of the Union address.
Follow Trump’s logic for a minute: I’m the President. Everything I do is great. If you don’t praise me and applaud me for it, you clearly hate America and are a traitor.
“Can we call that treason? Why not?” Trump said. “They certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much.”
How is this guy our President?
Senator Tammy Duckworth (D. Ill) has just about had enough, and offered this epic rebuttal of Trump’s idiotic comments:
“We don’t live in a dictatorship or a monarchy. I swore an oath—in the military and in the Senate—to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not to mindlessly cater to the whims of Cadet Bone Spurs and clap when he demands I clap”
Well done, Senator Duckworth. Well done indeed. And lest anyone think Duckworth isn’t fit to talk about her love of America, you can remind them that she lost both of her legs due to combat injuries fighting for the rights of people like Donald Trump, who she affectionately calls “Cadet Bone Spurs.”
Tammy Duckworth is a true American hero.
